Kathy

I wanted to write a quick post to have you all keep Kathy and her family in your prayers. We all know the power of prayer and know it works. Kathy was diagnosed with breast cancer a couple of months ago, but the cancer was aggressive and has spread to other parts of her body. If anyone needs our prayers it's Kathy and her family. I love Kathy so much, she is my second Mom. She has always been there for me and I can't imagine a life without her in it. Please remember her in your prayers.

I'm just sick about this. I seriously get knots in my stomach when I think about Kathy and the Abney's and what they are going through. I love Kathy and just want her to be ok. On another note, I'm SO glad you were able to go to the autism conf. It sounds like it was very informative and beneficial. I want to hear all about it!! SO cool that you met Jenny!! You should cut your hair like hers.

Seriously, I also have been sick about what Kathy and her family are having to go through. I love that Abney family, especially Kathy. Kathy and Val are 2 of my very best friends and our trips to Calif. were seriously the best! Kathy and I said the other day, "We should have just stayed there in that faulous setting, not facing real life!" We are all exercising our faith and praying so hard. As Pres. Hinckley said, "It will all work out!"

I will definitely continue to think and pray for Kathy and her family as I have been since you've told me. I'm so sad that they have to be going through this right now.

I HATE CANCER!!!! I see it everyday at work and with my own mother and grandmother...it's funny... at work we always say that "it happens to the nicest people" - this proves to be true as Kathy Abney is one of the nicest people you'll meet. My prayers are with the Abeny family. Somehow, my problems don't seem as bad. Crazy how that happens.

I'm not sure if you remember who I am. I married Cooper Goodman, Natalee's cousin. I read your blog from time to time and knew I had to comment on this post. I have loved Kathy from the moment I met her. She had always made me feel so welcomed and loved. On Sunday we had a big family fast for Kathy and her family. It was really neat to see the whole family pull together and show our love for Kathy. Thank you for posting this. They are always in my prayers.

We also have a blog, but we are private. If you want to see it you can email me and I'll add you to the list. colettegoodman@gmail.com

I had no idea. When I think of your family I automatically think of the Abney's too. You are like one in the same. I will keep her in my prayers for sure. She is such a neat lady. I appreciated Lana's reminder "it will all work out."

Abby,
I love Kathy! She was one of my favorite YW advisors. I will definitely keep her in my prayers. By the way, sometime I would like to talk to you about vaccines and the alternatives. I am due with my first boy and I know boys are at higher risk than girls for autism and vaccine-induced autism.
It's so fun to see your blog. I miss AZ people!

Abby--Just heard about Kathy two days ago--so sad! She's the sweetest person and such a sincere good friend to so many. Will be praying for her--you're right--miracles can happen.

So impressed with your ability to speak out in behalf of autism and happy that you have so much support. You will help many other families who are affected and maybe even keep some from being affected.

Our family feels so blessed by our association with your family and the Abneys. Raising a family and growing up in Emerald Acres was a lot of fun!

My best to you--Judy Worthen

Hi Abby. I have been so sad since I heard about Kathy having cancer. She was/is always such a good friend to everyone. I don't think I have ever seen or heard her be unkind to anyone! My prayers have definitely been with the Abneys. I am so impressed with you and your efforts with your little guy and autism! You are an angel! He's a lucky little boy. Bonnie (used to be Beals)

Abby. Very sweet post. It rips my heart out - and reminds me how fragile life is. I've always admired the Abney's and thought they would be such a fun family to be apart of...That is such a beautiful family picture you posted of them -Kathy is loved by so many - she will be in our prayers. Thank goodness for this gospel.

Hey Abby, This is Tiffany Cooper and I dont have a blog but I love reading others! Let me just say prayers work and god is amazing. After seeing two people in my family battle cancer this past year I know that anything is possible and that god is great! I read your blog last week about her cancer being in more places than just her breast. I was in Newport with Ashley. Ashley and her husband went to the temple that day while I babysat their baby. When they got home I told Ashley about Kathy. Ash started to weep up and told me that she had an overwhelming feeling to put Kathy Abneys name in the temple in Newport Beach that day. she had no idea what was going on. Now we have lots of wonderful people in California praying for her and her family! God is great!
